Harvesting of winter wheat has begun in 35 districts of Tatarstan, and winter rapeseed in another 6 districts, said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Marat Zyabbarov at a meeting with the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
To date, grain crops have been threshed on an area of more than 20 thousand hectares, oilseeds - more than 3 thousand hectares. The average yield is 44 c/ha for grains and 20 c/ha for winter rape.
According to the Russian Agricultural Center, during dry weather, grain moisture decreases daily by approximately 2%. Now the moisture content of winter grains is in the range of 17–55%, winter rapeseed – 10–29%.
For post-harvest processing, 411 grain dryers operate in the republic, of which 119 use diesel fuel. 39 elevators with a total simultaneous storage capacity of 2.5 million tons of grain are also ready to receive the new harvest. Carrying grain reserves at elevators and grain receiving enterprises amount to 545 thousand tons.
