In 2025, the three largest grain buyers in the Rostov region significantly reduced purchase volumes, writes Kommersant with reference to the head of the information and technical service of the Rostov customs Dmitry Kvasko.
Egypt reduced them by 48%, Saudi Arabia by 50%, and Türkiye by 60%.
“Exports of oilseeds and fruits are also showing a decline. The volume of export supplies by weight is 24% and 14% by value,” the specialist added.
In January-November 2025, approximately 1.5 thousand companies carried out foreign economic activity in the Rostov region, which is 12% less than in the same period in 2024. According to Mr. Kvasko, the largest decrease in the number of participants was observed among small enterprises.
The head of the information technology service noted a significant increase in exports of small and medium-sized enterprises in terms of gross volumes. This year, their share amounted to 31% of the total value of the region’s exports, which is 6% more than last year, when this figure was 25%.
