The US Department of Agriculture in a December report again raised the forecast for wheat harvest in Russia in the current agricultural year (July 2025 - June 2026) by 1 million to 87.5 million tons. The estimate of ending ending stocks has also been increased - 13.19 million tons versus 12.19 million. The forecast for wheat exports from the Russian Federation has not changed compared to the November report and is estimated at 44 million tons.
The corn harvest is forecast at 14.5 million tons (+0.4 million). Corn exports remained at the same level – 3 million tons, carryover stocks amounted to 1.06 million tons (+0.1 million).
Feed grain production increased to 37.48 million tons (+0.5 million), exports are estimated at 6.81 million tons (unchanged), carryover stocks will amount to 2.01 million tons (+0.1 million).
The estimate of wheat exports for Russia's competitor, the European Union, remained at the same level of 33 million tons. The forecast for EU wheat production has again been raised by 1.7 million to 144 million tons.
The forecast for the wheat harvest in Ukraine, as in the last report, is estimated at 23 million tons. Wheat export estimates were lowered to 14.5 million tons (-0.5 million). The gross corn harvest was immediately reduced by 3 million and is projected at 29 million tons; exports of the crop were also reduced - to 23 million tons (-1.5 million).
Forecasts for Kazakhstan remained at the same level. According to analysts, 18.9 million tons of wheat will be harvested in the republic, and 9 million tons will be exported.
The forecast for the world wheat harvest in the new agricultural year is 837.81 million tons (+8.92 million by November), feed grain - 1 billion 575.82 million tons (1 billion 576.13 million), corn - 1 billion 282.96 million tons (1 billion 286.23 million).
