In August 2026, wheat exports are estimated at about 2.1 million tons. The vast majority of export supplies were provided through rail transportation, reports the Rusagrotrans analytical center (part of "Demetra-Holding").
The preliminary forecast for September, depending on the activity of shipments of the Black Sea and Baltic ports, will be 1.6-2 million tons, the center said in a statement.
Analysts also note that over the week, stock quotes and physical prices for wheat grew actively, reaching three-year highs. The tense situation in the Azov-Black Sea basin remains, and there are no visible prerequisites for its stabilization. Additional pressure comes from the growing escalation in Iran, which is fueling higher oil prices.
Taking into account rising world prices, the Turkish Grain Council (TMO) will begin selling wheat from state reserves to the domestic market from September 1 instead of October 15.
On August 28, Tunisia purchased 125 thousand tons of wheat at $308.05/t C&F, as well as 75 thousand tons of barley at $299.69-303.85/t C&F. Compared to the previous tender on July 30, the average purchase price for wheat increased by $23/t, barley – by $34/t.
