The Russian agro-industrial complex can export products worth $40 billion in 2025, says Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.
“This year, we hope that we will reach $40 billion; in terms of tonnage there should be somewhere around 80 million tons. Less than last year, due to the situation with the exchange rate, because the exchange rate does not support our exports. But in the current situation, we assess this as a good result,” Interfax quotes her as saying.
According to her, agricultural products - “whatever they may be” - are cheaper than industrial ones. These are budget products, the minister noted.
“But we are now looking at the dynamics, there is a week left. We hope to get $40 billion,” she said.
Lut confirmed her earlier forecast that grain exports from Russia in the 2025/26 agricultural year (July-June) will amount to 53-55 million tons.
In 2024, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Russia exported 109.2 million tons of agricultural products.
According to the Federal Customs Service, in 2024, export revenue from agricultural products amounted to $42.6 billion, which is 1.1% less than in 2023 ($43.1 billion). The main export goods of the Russian agro-industrial complex are oil and fat products, fish and seafood, grains and legumes.
According to the task set by the president to increase the export of agricultural products by 2030 by one and a half times compared to 2021, in 2030 supplies abroad should be at the level of $55.2 billion.
