For the first time, the Gorky Railway sent a shipment of grain as part of an “express freight” from the Republic of Tatarstan to St. Petersburg. A train of 44 grain wagons with a total weight of 3.2 thousand tons departed from the Yudino station, the press service of Russian Railways reports.
The new route has been developed for regular cargo shipments to the ports of the North-West. After arriving at the port, the cargo was exported to South Africa.
“This is a new route for the client. We are always ready to meet halfway and select the most convenient logistics solution for our partners. Specifically, taking into account the client’s business interests, we have rebuilt the route to the ports of the North-West. Targeted interaction with partners, working according to their needs is the constant principle of our work,” noted Elena Ashaeva, head of the Kazan Agency for Corporate Transport Services.
In January – November 2025, about 540 thousand tons of grain were loaded at the stations of the Gorky Railway located on the territory of Tatarstan, which is 11.4% more than in the same period in 2024. In November, 84.5 thousand grains were loaded (+45.3%).
