In the Stavropol region, the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops has been completed. The harvest amounted to 10.6 million tons, which is a record figure for the region, the governor of the region Vladimir Vladimirov reported in his Telegram channel.
The final crop for this season was corn, which is harvested even in winter, weather permitting. More than 124 thousand hectares were allocated for it, as last year. The gross corn harvest amounted to 493.3 thousand tons, which is 11.5% higher than last year (in 2024 - 442.5 thousand tons). Productivity also increased and reached 39.7 c/ha (in 2024 – 35.6 c/ha).
The leaders in the volume of corn harvested were the Predgorny, Kochubeevsky and Novoaleksandrovsky districts.
“Special words of gratitude go to the farmers from the arid Neftekumye. Thanks to strict adherence to technology and the use of reclamation systems, they achieved a record result - 95 centners per hectare. The second place in terms of yield is in the Kursk district, the third place is shared by the Novoselitsky and Sovetsky districts,” noted the head of the region.
