Siberian farmers threshed over 55% of the sown area, harvesting 7.3 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, the pace of harvesting work significantly exceeds last year, reports the office of the Russian Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev.
“The pace of harvesting work is significantly higher than last year, when as of September 8, only 35% of the crops were threshed. Today, Siberian farmers have already threshed over 55% of the sown areas, 7.3 million tons of grains and leguminous crops have been harvested. The average yield is 19.5 centners per hectare,” the message quotes Prime.
The leader of the harvesting campaign is the Altai Territory, where more than 60% of the area has been harvested and about 2.5 million tons of grain have been threshed. Harvesting is also progressing at a high pace in the Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, where 1.5 and 1.3 million tons of grain have been collected, respectively.
In eastern Siberia, according to the embassy, the results of the harvest season are at the level of last year. In terms of yield, agricultural producers of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kemerovo Region and Irkutsk Region traditionally show high results.
At the same time, winter crops are being sown in the regions of the district - 49.5% of the planned area is sown.
