Wheat exports from the Russian Federation in September, according to preliminary data, may amount to 1.6-2 million tons, reports Interfax with reference to the Rusagrotrans analytical center.
As the center reported, the figure will largely depend on the activity of shipments of the Black Sea and Baltic ports. In September 2025, the Russian Federation exported 4.9 million tons of wheat.
Analysts estimate exports in August this year at about 2.1 million tons. “The overwhelming majority of export supplies were provided through rail transportation,” the center reported.
Assessing the price situation on the market, analysts said that over the week stock quotes and physical prices for wheat grew actively, reaching three-year highs. The tense situation remains in the Azov-Black Sea basin and there are no visible prerequisites for its stabilization yet. Additional pressure comes from the growing escalation in Iran, which is fueling higher oil prices.
Taking into account rising world prices, the Turkish Grain Council (TMO) has moved the start of the sale of wheat from state reserves to the domestic market to September 1 from October 15.
On August 28, Tunisia purchased 125 thousand tons of wheat at $308.05 per ton (C&F), as well as 75 thousand tons of barley at $299.69-303.85 per ton (C&F). Compared to the previous tender, which took place on July 30, the average purchase price for wheat increased by $23, and barley by $34 per ton.
