As of December 25, 147.8 million tons of grain in bunker weight were threshed in Russia, reports the Ministry of Agriculture. The agency confirms the harvest forecast of 137 million tons in net weight, but notes that the harvest could be slightly higher depending on refining. Grain exports at the end of the current agricultural season are projected at 53–55 million tons, which corresponds to the average values for 5 years.
According to Rosstat, in 2025, the gross harvest of grains and legumes in the Russian Federation amounted to 139.4 million tons, which is 10.7% more than the previous year. Including collected: • 91.4 million tons of wheat (+10.6% by 2024); • 19.7 million tons of barley (+18.3%); • 12.7 million tons of corn (-9.3%); • 1 million tons of rye (-14.3%); • 0.9 million tons of buckwheat (-23.6%); • 1.19 million tons of rice (−5.1%).
The government has established a tariff quota for the export of wheat, meslin, barley and corn from Russia outside the EAEU at 20 million tons. The volume of quota for the export of rye is 0 tons. The quota will be valid from February 15 to June 30, 2026.
From January 19, 2026, NTB launches spot grain trading in the format of a two-sided anonymous auction. The auction includes 4 grade wheat. with protein 12.5%. Participants will be able to simultaneously place counter orders for purchase and sale, indicating the price and volume; If the parameters match, a deal will be concluded automatically.
From 2027, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation plans to link the provision of preferential loans to farmers for seasonal field work with crop insurance. Next year, taking into account the already announced plans of farmers, the share of insured crops may reach 20.4%.
In November 2025, 3.4 million tons of grain were sent through the Russian Railways network, which is 26.4% higher than the same period last year. 1.1 million tons (+38.3%) were transported across Russia, 2.3 million tons of grain (+21.5%) were loaded for export.

Cumulative wheat exports in July-December are estimated at 26 million tons, which is 2.4 million less than last year.
Customs duties from January 12, 2026 on wheat and meslin will be reduced, while on barley and corn they will remain zero. These rates will be in effect on January 12-13, 2026. On December 30 of this year, export customs duty rates for the period from January 14 to 20 will be published.
