The grain harvest in Russia in 2026 is projected to be more than 140 million tons, which is 4 million tons less than a year earlier, said Vladimir Petrichenko, director of the Prozerno company, speaking at the Grain of Siberia forum.
“In general, if this is a general description of the picture that is currently underway, in my calculations I still see 134-135 million tons of grain, excluding new territories. <…> If we count together with new territories, then the total harvest will be more than 140 million tons,” he is quoted as saying TASS.
According to Petrichenko, of the total volume without Donbass and Novorossiya, about 88.5 million tons are wheat, about 20 million tons are barley. The forecast for corn is about 15 million tons. The grain harvest, according to his estimates, will decrease to 5.1 million tons. At the end of 2025, Russia collected the third volume of grain in the country's history - more than 144 million tons. As the director of Prozerno clarified, the dynamics are primarily due to a decrease in sown areas by 6.5% year on year.
