Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev expects that the winter wedge will continue to be in good condition, regardless of weather conditions.
“The weather is difficult, objectively difficult. We hope that we will still maintain the situation, that the winter wedge that has already been sown will continue to be, regardless of weather conditions, in good, excellent, possibly satisfactory condition. We will think about how we can continue to work,” Patrushev said in a commentary for the Telegram channel “Yunashev Live,” TASS reports.
He noted that the government cannot influence the process of warming or cooling. “The government cannot influence it yet, but we are striving for this,” added Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.
At the beginning of December, the Deputy Prime Minister reported that about 20 million hectares have already been sown with winter crops for next year’s harvest, which corresponds to the forecast figures.
