Agricultural producers in Transbaikalia in 2025 demonstrated the highest grain yields over the past 30 years. This result was achieved, among other things, through the use of new varieties, said the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, Albina Koreshkova.
“Last fall, despite natural disasters, farmers in the region received a good harvest and achieved record levels over the past 30 years. The average grain yield in the region was 18.2 centners per hectare, which is 34% higher than last year. In some farms this figure ranged from 40 to 60 centners per hectare. This result was achieved thanks to the use of modern agricultural technologies and the introduction into production of three new varieties of wheat and one variety of oats,” explained Koreshkova.
In 2025, the gross harvest of grain crops in agricultural organizations and farms in Transbaikalia amounted to 120.3 thousand tons, which is 24% higher than last year’s level.
