Specialists from the testing laboratory of the Volgograd branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Tsok Agroindustrial Complex" examined 776.1 thousand tons of new crop wheat as part of state monitoring, Interfax reports.
This represents 37% of the current gross harvest in the region (2.1 million tons). In total, as of July 20, experts analyzed about 1.2 thousand samples.
In the selected samples of wheat grain, it was revealed that class III grain makes up 39%, class IV - 52.9%, class V - 8.1%. No products that do not comply with GOST requirements have been identified.
Thus, the share of class III and IV wheat by mid-July was equal to 91.9% of the surveyed volume.
“The first samples of winter wheat began to arrive for research at the laboratory of the Central Research Center of the Agro-Industrial Complex on June 27. This grain is from Kotelnikovsky, Surovikinsky, Alekseevsky, Ilovlinsky, Chernyshkovsky, Serafimovichsky, Pallasovsky, Staropoltavsky, Kalachevsky, Gorodishchensky, Kletsky, Svetloyarsky, Danilovsky, Olkhovsky, Kumylzhensky, Nekhaevsky, Uryupinsky and Frolovsky districts,” said a branch employee.
The Volgograd region expects to harvest 5.5 million tons of grains and legumes in 2026.
