The grain harvesting campaign continues in the Krasnodar Territory, reports the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
“The harvest in the region is proceeding as planned. More than 5 thousand units of harvesting equipment are working in the fields. According to operational data, about 1.5 million hectares have been threshed, which is 73% of the planned area. The gross harvest of grain crops has exceeded 8.2 million tons. The work is being carried out in an organized manner and at a good pace,” noted Fedor Dereka, Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Krasnodar Territory.
Including winter barley threshed on an area of 185.4 thousand hectares, the gross agricultural harvest amounted to more than 1 million tons, the average yield was 56.1 c/ha. Winter wheat has been threshed on an area of more than 1.1 million tons, the gross harvest is over 6.5 million tons with a yield of 58.4 c/ha. Peas for grain were harvested from an area of about 160 thousand hectares, the gross harvest was 567 thousand tons with a yield of 35.5 c/ha.
Also, the region's farms are harvesting niche crops such as triticale, rye, oats, chickpeas, and lentils.
In total, Kuban farmers will have to thresh about 2 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops.
