In Russia, sales of domestic agricultural machinery on the domestic market in the first half of 2026 showed an increase in monetary terms, but its production over the same period decreased slightly, and the position of manufacturers in the current macroeconomics remains critical. Interfax reports this with reference to the Russian Association of Manufacturers of Specialized Machinery and Equipment (Rosspetsmash).
According to the association’s estimates, in six months agricultural machinery was produced for 106.2 billion rubles (-2.2%) with sales to the domestic market of 85.5 billion rubles (+11.2%) and exports of 10.3 billion rubles (+4%).
In absolute terms, Rosspetsmash records a decrease in the production of agricultural machinery for almost all main types. At the end of the half-year, the production of balers fell by almost half (-48.6%, to 514 units), fertilizer application machines - by more than a third (-34.4%, to 162 units), forage harvesters and mowers - by almost a quarter (-24%, to 79 units, and -23.6%, to 1185 units), tractors - by 14.3% (to 1.6 thousand pieces). The association notes positive dynamics for reapers (+66.8%, up to 1.6 thousand units), sprayers (+11.7%, up to 666 units) and seeders (+3.6%, up to 2,161 units).
At the end of the first half of the year, Rosspetsmash recorded an increase in shipments of agricultural machinery from Russian manufacturers to the domestic market for grain harvesters (+85.7%, up to 1564 machines), forage harvesters (+13%, up to 113), tractors (+2.3%, up to 1406) and reapers (+10%, up to 1021). Other types of equipment showed a decrease. Russian manufacturers, according to the association’s estimates, now occupy slightly more than half of the Russian agricultural machinery market.
"Rosspetsmash" calls the financial situation of the majority of the association's members critical, noting that it is associated "with unjustified price regulation, a decline in consumer business activity, a record high cost of borrowed funds and unfair competitive pressure from imported products."
In July, the association sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, in which, in particular, it asked to support the industry by expanding the list of tax benefits, limiting the cost of metal and additional measures to stimulate exports.
