The FAS notes an increase in market interest in exchange trading in agricultural products. Over the past 5 years, their range and volume have expanded significantly.
The leader in terms of trading volume is grains (wheat, corn, barley) - since the beginning of trading, 4.4 million tons of these products have been sold on the exchange.
Also, relatively large volumes of exchange sales are typical for oilseeds (soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower) - 1.3 million tons and sugar - 1.2 million tons. Currently, more than 70 types of agricultural products are sold on the exchange on delivery bases located in 45 regions.
To expand the range of agricultural products at exchange trading, the FAS Russia, as part of the control of economic concentration transactions, may prescribe a certain volume of goods to be sold on the exchange. This creates the prerequisites for the formation of national price indicators.
FAS Russia continues to monitor compliance with the requirements for providing data on over-the-counter contracts to the exchange. Such information is used to calculate price indicators, which are taken into account, among other things, when calculating export duties*. The agency reminds that for failure of legal entities to comply with these requirements, fines in the amount of 300 to 500 thousand rubles are provided.
