From July 1 to July 20 this year, the Russian Federation exported almost 1.3 million tons of main types of grain, which is 13.6% less than in the same period last year (almost 1.4 million tons), Interfax reports, citing monitoring by the Russian Grain Union.

“At the same time, shipments for wheat exports increased almost 1.6 times, to 1 million 113 thousand tons against 708 thousand tons a year ago,” said Elena Tyurina, director of the analytical department of the union.

As Tyurina reported, wheat was shipped to 21 countries in July, which is four more than a year ago. Egypt became the leader in purchases, but the volume fell by 12.1%, to 176 thousand tons compared to 200 thousand tons over the two decades of July 2025. Kenya took second place in the buyer rating: shipments to its market doubled, to 101 thousand tons. The top 3 is completed by Sudan, where 100 thousand tons were sent.

In fourth place is Israel, exports to which increased 4.4 times, to 75.8 thousand tons. 74.8 thousand tons were sent to Bangladesh, which is 16 times more than a year ago.

“At the beginning of the current season, there is an increase in the supply of wheat to African countries, and to those where a year ago Russian wheat was not sent. Thus, 54.6 thousand tons were shipped to Mozambique, Tanzania - 47.1 thousand tons, South Africa - 45 thousand tons, Nigeria - 38 thousand tons, Somalia - 27.6 thousand tons, Angola - 27 thousand. tons," the expert said. She also highlighted the increase in shipments to the UAE - by 29%, to 54.2 thousand tons.

In the first two decades of July, 19 companies exported wheat, compared to 24 a year ago.

Tyurina also reported that grain and leguminous crops were transshipped through 20 ports in July, and through 28 last season.

Speaking about the price situation on the market, Tyurina said that a significant increase in prices has been recorded since the beginning of the month.

Wheat producer prices, influenced by the arrival of new grain grain, decreased by 3.6% over the two decades of July, to 13,710 rubles per ton from 14,220 rubles. In dollar terms - up to $175 on July 20 from $182 per ton on July 1.
