The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia continues to monitor prices for agricultural machinery; there have been no complaints from market participants, said the head of the FAS, Maxim Shaskolsky.
“We are constantly monitoring the situation. Firstly, we have no complaints. However, this issue is under control. If any price change occurs, it is economically justified,” TASS quotes him as saying.
As Shaskolsky said, the service has already studied the situation on the agricultural machinery market and has not identified high margins among manufacturers.
“The price is economically justified. A huge amount of work was done to replace components and switch to Russian components. This required certain resources,” he explained.
Previously, Shaskolsky stated that since 2023, on behalf of the government, the FAS, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture, has been checking prices for domestically produced agricultural machinery. According to him, Russian manufacturers occupy a dominant position in the market and are subject to antimonopoly control.
