Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Delo group of companies Sergei Shishkarev said that he is considering the idea of creating a grain hub in Oman.
“My idea is to create a hub for grain transshipment, possible processing, or carry out trade operations on the territory of the Sultanate of Oman with subsequent redistribution and delivery of grain to African countries,” Interfax quotes him as saying.
We are talking primarily about the east coast of Africa, where there are many countries consuming Russian grain, he added.
It was previously reported that as part of the strategy being developed until 2035, Delo Group wants to be present “in elevator and warehouse facilities, in places of grain consumption in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, possibly in Nigeria, Ethiopia.”
The Delo group of companies manages sea container terminals in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far Eastern basins, a network of railway container terminals, a fleet of containers and fitting platforms.
