The cost of delivering grain from the Rostov region to Novorossiysk increased to 2.5–3 thousand rubles. per ton. Previously, when the ports of Taganrog and Taman were operating, this figure was 1–1.5 thousand rubles. Andrey Sizov, director of the analytical company SovEkon, stated this on air at RBC TV South, Kommersant writes.
According to Sizov, it is technically possible to redirect export flows to Novorossiysk, but for farmers this results in a significant increase in logistics costs. “If previously a farm in the Rostov region could sell grain to local terminals, now it has to either be transported or wait,” the expert noted.
The price of grain in Novorossiysk is still around 15 rubles. per kg, however, the analyst admits its decline on the domestic market in the coming weeks.
Additional pressure on the profitability of crop production comes from rising diesel fuel prices. The industry has been experiencing financial difficulties since 2021, and current logistics problems could further worsen the situation of agricultural producers.
