An emergency regime has been introduced in the Altai Territory due to unfavorable agrometeorological conditions this season, reports the region’s governor, Viktor Tomenko, in his Telegram channel.
The dry summer affected the work of agricultural producers in the fields, Tomenko noted.
The decision was made on September 7 based on the results of the commission on the prevention and response to emergency situations and ensuring fire safety.
Within a month, commissions will be created in all municipalities of the region where field work is being carried out to assess the damage to farmers. This information will then be transmitted to Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, where a decision will be made on possible additional support measures.
“Also, the state of emergency will allow our agricultural producers to more effectively interact with insurance companies,” the governor wrote.
